This has been a summer of self-reflection. It all started in May with a fabulous trip to Malta and Italy where my love of the arts was rekindled. Soaking up the design, fashion, art, architecture, and natural beauty around every corner was truly inspirational. I returned home with a desire to indulge in more creative pursuits.
In June and July I sat down with my coaching tools thinking about what is going well in my life and what I can do to broaden my horizons. I feel very fortunate to remain challenged and engaged working with my coaching clients. I am also lucky to have the opportunity to stay in good mental and physical shape through daily hikes and other mountain activities. However, I determined that I was lacking in the joy of creative inspiration.
While travel expands cultural awareness and feeds my interest in art and design, I missed this spark at home. The search began for ways to bring more art into my life. An interest in photography bubbled to the top. I am now an Art Consultant for David Beavis Fine Art in Park City. David Beavis is a renown photographer from Australia with a painterly style and passion for natural beauty. I spend a couple of days a week discussing his art in a lovely gallery filled with stunning landscape images from around the world.
As a Life Coach, I help clients focus on achieving goals. I just learned a valuable lesson about checking in more regularly with myself. I didn’t know what I was missing until I stopped long enough to reflect and connect with my needs. Adding creative expression to my life has enhanced my coaching as well as my goals to stay active and healthy. It’s time to celebrate the fruits of self-reflection!
