Musical Monday is inspired by the new attitude that often comes with the change of seasons.
Patti LaBelle had a successful career as part of the vocal group LaBelle in the 1960-70’s. But when the group broke up in 1976, the singer had a difficult time transitioning her success into a solo career.
In 1984, Patti LaBelle was invited to record New Attitude written by Sharon Robinson, Jon Gilutin and Bunny Hull for the soundtrack of the first Beverly Hills Cop movie. Beverly Hills Cop became the top film of 1984 in the U.S. and the soundtrack shot to number one.
The success of the movie and the song New Attitude, fittingly about bouncing back with confidence, made Patti LaBelle a star in her own right at age 40. The crossover song made the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Dance Music Chart and Hot R&B Singles Chart catapulting her solo career.
“I'm feeling good from my hat to my shoe
Know where I am going and I know what to do
I've tidied up my point of view
I've got a new attitude”
~ Patti LaBelle
When something changes in life to inspire a new attitude we want to sing about it! Feeling in control and optimistic provides a boost of energy that is unmistakable.
The change of seasons can briefly inspire that burst of enthusiasm to see things differently. Wouldn’t it be nice to bottle that feeling and release it when necessary?
This is exactly the service a Life Coach can provide. The goal in working with clients is to help reframe current “realities” and foster a new attitude about the future.
