I always feel a rush of excitement and potential in the fall. Perhaps it stems from childhood back-to-school memories or buckling down at work after summer vacations. Whatever the reason, I enjoy the promise of starting something new as the cool weather arrives.
This week I started working with a new client here in Park City, Utah. I coach professionals from several countries and it’s a treat to work with someone in my backyard! I typically coach over the phone because I find it helps clients focus and open up. I can usually hear the point, a few minutes into a call, when a client forgets they are talking to me and begins speaking to themselves from the heart. However, my new client preferred to meet in person. This led to my first coffee house coaching session.
Meeting a client surrounded by people on their laptops with dogs at their feet created a cozy atmosphere to form a meaningful connection. I truly enjoyed the warmth of coffee house life coaching and the gift of experiencing something new.
I have colleagues who coach executives on surfboards at sunrise in California, on horseback in Montana, and while rock climbing in Colorado. Perhaps I will branch out and try coaching long-term clients on mountain hikes and ski lifts… Career transitions aren’t only for clients!
To keep the ball rolling, I am offering a limited number of complimentary introductory coffee house life coaching sessions during my upcoming trip to New York City. I will be meeting with clients November 15-29th. If you feel the need for change this time of year and would like to experience a life coaching session, please contact me.
