Musical Monday -- Total Eclipse of the Heart

Today’s Musical Monday inspiration was a no brainer. As the Continental U.S. is set to experience the first total solar eclipse in 38 years, I simply can’t get Bonnie Tyler’s smash hit out of my head.

“Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by”

--Bonnie Tyler, Total Eclipse of the Heart, 1983

If the concept of the Sun, Moon and Earth all lining up doesn’t move you, the lyric above might. Many of us at Midlife have thought about our “best years.” Have they gone by, are they yet to come? How will you know?

Many factors go into our definition of “the best years” of our life. Good times with family and friends, good health to do the things we love, freedom to choose our path… the list is as individual as we are.

If you believe that “the best years” are yet to come, how would that influence your journey? What are the limits to your future happiness? How can you create more opportunity for joy in the years to come?
